General Information

  • Campsites are reserved on a first come, first served basis
  • All units must satisfy BSA two deep leadership standards
  • All program area fees must be paid in advance to the Capitol Area Council office

Our council’s Properties Committee, in conjunction with council professional leadership, has made the decision to open Griffith League Scout Ranch back up to ‘Leave No Trace’ camping and C.O.P.E. programs effective immediately with the following restrictions:

  • Leave No Trace principles must be observed for all camping and activities
  • Scouts and leaders are not allowed into any of the burned areas
  • Scouts must observe all barricades and signs restricting entry to dangerous areas
  • Back gate and back road from Pine Path are closed indefinitely
  • Camporees and large district events are prohibited

Capitol Area Council units are required to pay $3 per youth/adult to use our council camping properties for regular weekend camping or day events. Out of council units have to pay $6 per camper (youth or adult). These fees are used to offset camp cleaning supplies/services and operating expenses.
